So, I’ve been hinting about it for months and not-so-patiently waiting for it to happen….and it finally did.
We moved!!!
We left this house and neighborhood that we loved so much……
For this…..
C’mon. Tell me that’s not awesome. The rest of the exterior looks like this and needs a little TLC, but who cares?
This keeps me busy….
While John and kids do this….
Let me back up just a bit, because in my excitement I forgot the beginning of May and one of my favorite events of the year…..the annual Derby Party. If you care to backtrack one year, you’ll see pictures of last year’s event, where it’s rumored that I drank a lot and fell down, all the while commenting about how drunk our friends were. Karma is a bi&$h! But, I digress….
I do not love this event because I care at all about horse racing. As a matter of fact, I could not tell you the name of one single horse or jockey. I love this event because it’s an excuse to get dressed up and hang with some of my all-time favorite people. Oh yeah, and there are mint juleps.
A note about this picture…we have no idea who’s car this is, and feel really bad about all of the mud and empty beer cans that we left when we returned from our joy ride….just kidding….sort of;-)
Back to moving. Walter seems to have adjusted nicely, and resumed his normal position….
Oh Milo, you stink!! He discovered that there are LOTS of horses near our new house and said horses leave LARGE piles of poop in the open space across from our house. You can tell by this picture how much fun he had rolling around and how proud he is of his new green hue. He was not amused 5 minutes later when I attacked him with the hose.
Shortly after all of the boxes were unloaded from the moving truck, it was time to get ourselves together for a big event. My little lady graduated from pre-school, otherwise known as social hour. I scrambled on the morning of the graduation to find anything for her to wear that wasn’t pajamas, so you’ll see the same Easter dress from last month’s post. If you know Reese at all, you know that she wears nothing but dresses 365 days of the year. So, for her to wear the same one, let alone be photographed in it, is a fashion faux paux. The saving grace was the mortarboard, which added a little something extra in the way of bling. Whew!
If you ask her, she’ll tell you that she’s very excited for Kindergarten, especially the opportunity to eat hot lunch in the cafeteria. Clearly, I must suck at cooking for the child if that is what she most looks forward to about school. Or, MAYBE she’s practicing being one of the “ladies who lunch”. God knows her Grandma Jane excelled at it!!
This is going to be a very lame “wrap up”. May 2014…in the books.
