I think I mentioned a couple posts back that we were officially under contract to sell our house and move to a great new house in north Fort Collins in mid-May. So, April was mostly about playing the waiting game. I packed a few boxes, made a few trips to Ikea, and did more Internet shopping than necessary. But, before you worry about my overspending, you should know that I have a habit of shopping, and shopping, and shopping, yet never actually buying anything. I peruse catalogs, ear-marking the pages of things I want, and creating a HUGE file of “House-To Buy” items. I also stay up way too late at night shopping on the Internet and adding items to my shopping cart. The good news is that I rarely pull the trigger…the retailers eventually send me an e-mail saying they’ve removed the items from my shopping cart, and the stack of catalogs gets thrown away.
Are you bored yet? Does anyone really care about my shopping habits? Besides John that is….
I hate to be a downer, but we did have one bit of sad news in April. John’s 14-year-old dog Mattie left us to chase tennis balls and squirrels in heaven. Now, some of you reading this will be surprised by my mention of this event, because it’s a known fact that Mattie and I didn’t always love each other. But, she was a sweet dog, always happy to see us, and was a loving companion to John for a long time. The event was harder than he thought it would be, and I felt very sad for him.
In this picture, they look like the best of friends and that Milo is happy to have a new person to share his white chair. NOT TRUE. In fact, to say that Milo tolerates Walter is even too optimistic. He curls up his lips and snarls at him….which is kind of funny because he is just so ANNOYED.
