As I said before, February was quite a month. It took me no less than 1000 words to tell you about the first 9 days of the month, so I thought the rest of it deserved it’s own post.
Valentine’s Day isn’t usually celebrated between John and I, but for a 6 and 4-year-old, it’s a BIG deal. I stupidly volunteered at both schools to help with the Valentine’s Day parties, which subsequently made me want to shoot Cupid with his own arrow. We spent the night before crafting homemade Valentines inspired by Pinterest. Whoever does this stuff on a regular basis clearly does not have a 6, 4 and 5-month old at home. At 10 pm the night before the parties, I was the sole craft-doer at the kitchen table, cussing my hot glue gun and eating Swedish fish with reckless abandon. But, I was determined to make Valentine’s Day magical for the kids, who probably would have forgotten had they not been served this delicious breakfast.
Followed by this creative Valentine’s lunch:
Clearly, you can see what sort of role food plays in our household….muy importante.
And, if that wasn’t enough John took us for a superb dinner at the local Thai restaurant. I ordered the Merloot, and it was delicious.
In other non-food related news, look who is 5-months old this month? She is a pure joy and is evidently a great sport too. This is a wax stick intended to entertain the kids during dinner at PF Changs, but also makes a great accessory for your sister’s nose. She’ll pay them back someday, I’m just sure of it.
Well, now this might just be the lamest post I’ve written yet. But, after a tropical vacation and the aforementioned Merloot, what else is there to say?
